03/02/07 – Distance was keeping our family from enjoying each other. My oldest son moves to California last year with both my grandchildren. My sisters and I are very close and while we don't live that far apart, getting together seems to get harder and harder. This past year we planned on everyone getting together for a post-Christmas celebration so they could see all my grandchildren (two visiting from the coast and one just two weeks old). Due to everyone who was staying with me coming down with the flu, we had to cancel and everyone missed seeing my grandchildren. Bad enough my sisters were unable to see my grandchildren but my son and his wife and new baby could not visit again during the week they were here. For my birthday everyone called and asked my husband what could they get me. My husband's reply, just be able to visit more often. Well, with everyone agreed that would be wonderful but with everyone working that is impossible. So another birthday was approaching that my oldest son and his children would not be able to share. My husband decided that this was getting ridiculous, we were missing out on too much. So the morning of my birthday I awoke to a big box sitting on my kitchen table with a note: now you don't have to miss out on anything. He had bought me an Ojo and had also bought one for both of our sons so we can visit with our grandkids any time we want. No more guessing how much the kids have grown, no more wishing to see them. I can Ojo them any time I want. Now, of course, my sisters wanted in on the act. I've given them the information. Hopefully they will be hooked up soon and we can chat as well.
